Alloy 28 (Incoloy 28) pipe has good resistance to uniform corrosion in some harsh corrosive environments. Because of its extremely low carbon content, it has good resistance to intergranular corrosion. After repeated welding, the corrosion resistance will not change. Decrease, pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion resistance are also good.

Alloy 28 (Incoloy 28) rods are mainly used in wet phosphoric acid production. It is widely used in seawater, chemical processing containing F-HCL, and production of organic acids. It is an ideal material to replace graphite heat exchangers when used in concentrated H3PO4. Used in pipe heat exchangers and acid gas delivery pipes in H2SO4.
